Coffeyville Resources (Coffeyville, KS), a refinery and nitrogen/fertilizer business, decided in mid-2005 that they wanted to enhance the functionality of MAXIMO. The decision was made to upgrade the Nitrogen/Fertilizer plant from 4X to MXES – immediately. They wanted the benefits of the 6X version – enhanced reports, improved purchasing, service orders, escalation tasks, screen editing, unlimited field additions, and enhanced domain list capabilities. Plus, they did not want to wait another 12-24 months for a MRO upgrade path with an uncertain release date.

Coffeyville Resources – 4X to 6X upgrade Synterprise LLC put together an aggressive migration schedule based on the assumption that Synterprise could complete this migration in a timely manner without waiting for the formal MRO upgrade script. Despite the lack of an upgrade executable from MRO, Synterprise consultants built the data mapping, performed test loads, wrote user test scripts and trained the client. When program anomalies were encountered Synterprise consultants quickly assessed the problems and developed workarounds using standard tailoring or Java. Coffeyville Resources asked Synterprise to provide follow-on technical support during the post go-live milestone. Coffeyville Resources has been live on MAXIMO 6X since mid-September 2005.
